Graham has a wide range of experience within the Health & Safety industry and is a Chartered Safety Practitioner.
He has worked on a variety of high value and nationally important projects both within the UK and abroad.
Graham brings to the company the ability to understand clients’ needs and aims to match staff profiles to their requirements.
As the business has developed over the years, he continues to maintain a full ‘hands on’ approach with each new commission; ensuring clients have easy access to discuss service delivery.
Chris Lawson, Regional Manager
Chris has over 30 years of experience as a design manager in the engineering & construction industry culminating in the past 15 years specialising in Health & Safety compliance, enforcement and business improvement.
He is an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety as well as being a member of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management and Institution of Occupational Safety & Health with broad experience of major Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Ports & Harbours and Industrial projects across the UK and overseas, which together with his enforcement background, enables him to deliver practical advice with cost effective solutions.
Chris is currently appointed as CDM Adviser on a UK based Offshore Wind Farm, NIGG Energy Park quay extension and Ford DSTO Decommissioning projects. He also manages the service delivery from the Midlands office.
Paul Foxton, Senior Safety Manager / CDM Adviser
Paul is a passionate Health & Safety Professional with a proven track record that includes Rail, Infrastructure, Retail and commercial, Health, Residential, Manufacture and Education sectors, undertaking roles encompassing the CDM Regulations as well as being a highly experienced Occupational Health & Safety Advisor.
He enjoys getting involved in the risk management process of projects, working with the design team to deliver projects with as minimal risk as practical for the whole life cycle of a building or structure.
Phil Ross, Senior Safety Manager / CDM Adviser
Phil has more than 15 years’ experience in delivering health, safety and environmental consultancy services across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, health, education, heritage, student accommodation & housing.
He is a chartered member of the institution for occupational safety and health (CMIOSH) and a certified member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS).
Phil also has specialist experience of undertaking fire risk assessments, health and safety culture assessment, and has developed and delivered Legionella management programmes, risk assessments, audits and water quality monitoring for a range of international clients.
Dave Lidford, Safety & Quality Manager
Dave was brought into the company to assist with the quality and safety management of the business.
He has successfully guided Steel River Consultants to obtain the required accreditations.
With Dave’s background in the chemical sector, he has brought the skill and knowledge of the process driven industry and has applied this to a number of roles including offshore, onshore and solar projects.
Dave is a Certified Member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS) and is therefore competent to carry out the role of CDM Adviser on behalf of our clients.
Ray Smeathers, Senior Safety Consultant
Ray has been operating within the Power Generation, Distribution, Utilities and Construction sectors for over 25 years and is familiar with the challenges that these industries have in meeting regulatory requirements.
He has provided safety, health, environmental and quality support operating at a senior level and worked very closely with clients to ensure their supporting partners achieve the results they require in a safe manner.
A Chartered Member of IOSH and active in many independent safety groups, Ray is able to provide pragmatic solutions within a wide range of industrial activities.
Jack Stoddart, Safety Manager / CDM Adviser
Jack joined our Health & Safety team from a multinational consultancy where he worked as a CDM Coordinator and Safety Consultant.
A Certified Member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS) and a member of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, he is currently working in the renewable sector across the UK on large scale ground mounted solar schemes, onshore wind turbine schemes and anaerobic digestion plants.
Jack is also working in partnership with a multinational Solar EPC Contractor as their UK HSE consultant and as a CDM Adviser in the private and public sectors on new builds and refurbishment projects.
Gillian O’Hara, Safety Adviser
Gillian has twenty years of experience in the power generation industry including six years in the role of Health, Safety and Environmental Co-ordinator at a gas fired power station in the Midlands.
Having graduated from Loughborough University with an MSc in Occupational Health & Safety she is currently working towards Chartered IOSH membership.
Gillian has extensive practical experience of developing and implementing SHEQ management systems in readiness for 3rd Party accreditation and has a methodical approach to gap analysis and integration of safe systems of work.
Abi Allick, Safety Adviser
Abi joined the company in 2014 as a trainee safety adviser to our safety practitioners.
We strongly believe in professional development and in assisting staff with the experience and knowledge to deliver the highest level of CDM and safety adviser services to our clients.
Steel River Consultants recognise the shortage of high-quality safety professionals with the correct level of experience, and since joining the company, Abi has developed her experience by working on a number of renewables and private sector projects.
Nicky Beddard, PA to the Managing Director
Nicky is office based and provides all staff with the office back up and support required to execute our projects professionally.
In addition to her PA duties, Nicky ensures that key documents such as F10s are submitted to the HSE on time and are in date.
She also acts as a focal point for arranging meeting and travel, etc. for the whole Health & Safety team.
Jill Tyerman, Accounts Manager
Jill is responsible for financial management within the business and looks after all aspects of commission management, including accounts, invoicing and payroll.
